Welcome back FI readers!
I had a great 1st week back at work, great students too. I feel like I was run over by a truck though and just managed a few smiles for these pictures. All the same it promises to be a good school year and I’m thrilled. My sleeves are rolled up, let’s do this.
When we think summer we think warmth, outdoors, barbecues, beaches, swim wear and of course vacations. There are all kinds of exotic vacations spots and then there is Vegas aka Sin City. Where the goal is to wear as little clothing as possible and have as much fun as possible, caution thrown to the wind. Everything that happens in Vegas stays in Vegas anyhow. Nobody is ever going to find out you were dancing atop the tables the night before, hehe.
I was contacted by Vegas.com to participate in a search for the #UltimateVegasOutfit. The perfect look for a day or evening at one of their fab resorts.
"...Given your fashion sense, I would love to see your take on a day at one of the premier Las Vegas hotels in the area! Whether it’s lunch at Lemongrass in the Aria, dinner at the Lago next to the Bellagio Fountains, or a night out at the Voodoo Rooftop Nightclub at the Rio, show us your ultimate Vegas outfit on your blog. I’ve selected a limited number of bloggers who fit the profile, and I’m confident you will take the challenge on full force, expressing your own creative vision for Las Vegas style. Our social team will be sharing some of their favorite posts on Twitter (@Vegascom) using the hashtag #UltimateVegasOutfit".
My first thought was to do something glitzy, glam that represents Vegas life such as a sequin tube dress, an ultra mini dress or a romper paired with sky high heels. Really cute but not trashy. Then I thought that would be so cliche. Everyone wears those in Vegas anyhow.

In tune with my different is so beautiful nature, I decided I‘d wear this multicolor asymmetric printed leather dress with structured uneven high neckline and a lovely loose silhouette by Junya Watanabe, guaranteed to have me looking like a Vegas VIP at the Botero steakhouse in the fabulous Wynn/Encore Las Vegas and later on at the XS nightclub. It’s not the briefest dress out there and not the most covered up either. It has enough bright colors to go with the season and enough blacks to tone them down some for a fun night out in Las Vegas. A perfect balance.
Designer Junya Watanabe is known as the 'techno couture’ designer creating unusually structured clothes out of modern and technical materials. Check out some of his creations at the Paris Fashion Week here. Models sashaying down the runway in very futuristic, innovative and distinctive pieces just like the I have on. Radical fashion meets high street.

I’m so excited to be starting a new series ‘FAB ON A DIME’ beginning next week. I get tons and tons of emails on how to achieve some of my looks for less and I thought I’d just show that it’s not all about the price tag. It's mostly about style and you can actually look fab on a dime. I’m excited about this and I hope you are too. Make it a date next weekend, :))). And by the way, don't forget to stop by on Wednesdays as well.

Deets
Dress - Junya Watanabe
Pumps - Christian Louboutin
Clutch - YSL
Thank you for stopping by and keep thinking the purple thoughts, Xo.
